Wigan Album

This doesn't look like Scholes in Wigan somehow.....there are places called Scholes in other districts. Veronica and Tom Walsh might know, as they grew up in Scholes.

The row of houses remind me a bit of Crawford Terrace off Scholes. To get to them you went through an arch in between the Chemist and Sutton’s Cloggers. I could be wrong. There was another place off Greenough St on the left hand side behind Scholes with houses like these.

Streets were so different back then. No street furniture to bump into, no litter. Just look at that first doorstep, worn away by constant feet shod in clogs with metal rims perhaps .
