The children's playground was up on the right of the Hall in the 1980s, and still is, I believe. But when I was a child in the late 1950s/early 1960s it was down in a dip to the LEFT of the Hall.

I remember the childrens playground at Haigh Hall, and also one in Scholes at Brook House flats. We don't have playgrounds like that now.

Carolean. yes it did, and the one in Wigan Park was very high too. The "Health and Safety" brigade have probably poked their noses in since then!

Ashfield Park had one too. We used to polish it with the greaseproof paper bread came in at the time to make it slide faster. You used to shoot off the end it was that fast.
