Another good one DTease. The scene is a little like an area in Sheringham Park, where we often walk.
It's very similar to Hall Lee Bank Park where I live, I feel I have seen enough of it to last me the rest of my life, but thank God I can still go and listen to the birds singing and the stream babbling away ...
Thats lovely to be able to do that Veronica....what a nice turn of phrase...babbling brook.
Not sure if it's a brook or stream Helen, I'm not 'well up' on the finer details, but it is a beautiful wood / park, gifted to Westhoughton by the Hulton family over a 100 years ago. It always reminds me of the woods leading up to Haigh Hall, it's keeping me fit any way!
" gifted to Westhoughton by the Hulton family "
Same old chestnut. In reality, no family has ever 'gifted' anything to anywhere. You'll find it now belongs to the Peel Group, along with anything else of the Hulton estate / British Coal land. Rather like Haigh estate.
