As a follow up to Mick Langton's excellent pictures of Westwood Power Station demolition, this is a photo that I took around that time.
A lone angler is undisturbed as across the canal Westwood Power Station is demolished on Thursday 7th of September 1989 following the cooling towers demolition on January 15th of that year. |

Doughty indeed, was this angler, and also capable of ringing the changes; the rumble of far side activities being met with his decision to use the Swing Tip ('bottom fishing') method. Happy was this Westwood shikar. |

That angler was John Ralph who up to passing away a few years ago lived in Belle Green Lane. |
