A nice action-photo Ron. All the boys shown here - in their sensible short sleeve V-neck jerseys, musn't have needed any close scrutiny, judging by their teacher's attitude. They're on their way. I continue to admire those stout and dependable workbenches too, although I sometimes found their tool wells to be irksome during my school woodworking classes; they were an almost guaranteed hideaway from something sought. Now where did I put that ... .
During 1945/46 at secondary school, (All boys' school) most of our school week was taken up by, either gardening, or woodwork, until things started to get on an even keel, when the teachers began returning, from giving Hitler a bloody nose, and the Japanese had been sorted out. Quite a lot of young men returning to civvy street, came into the teaching profession.
