Crank and Burtons building. I loved going in here, an old fashioned Builders merchants and ironmongers etc.

I used to go here during school holidays with Alan Moss the van driver for Arthur Wain builders in the 60s.

Oh..the times I used to gaze into that window,to see a beautiful dark green Aga cooker..and wish that it was mine.

In the forties Crank and Burtons were in Commercial Yard and moved to this building was Ashtons Cold Storage/ Ice works and served the fish Market and others (Before fridges)
