The so called "Ghost House" on the right,demolished before the war, the wall and railings on the right were in front of the church and were demolished in the late 60s when the road was widened.

I remember tales of the Ghost House back in the 50's. It was said things were hurled around the rooms...sounds like it was poltergist activity.

Helen, the main ghost activity was around 1903 I think and reported extensively in the Wigan Observer and Wigan Examiner. There was also a well illustrated article in a periodical of the time called "The World Wide Magazine." So the "Ghost" attracted international attention!
