Another great photograph from Mr Hughes. This is the type of INTERESTING photo. we want to see Better than the rubbish we've recently had. i.e. people sat in a pub.
Alan another great postcard Where are you getting them from? <g>
How pretty is this scene? Few and far between unfortunately. I wouldnt even mind seeing such photos repeated on WW again after say a year. How could anyone object to that. i.e. anything from the days before 1940ish? :)
At one point in Wigan there was a pub every 100 yards or so,there were a lot of them, and people sat in them. This is a photograph of trees covered in snow, there were a lot of them as well.
I give up on some of you on here lol
As Miss Phythian at St John's used to say...I might as well save my breath to cool my porridge!!!!
Thank you for taking the time to post a photo , Allan.
Wonderful photo, everyone including their dog are enjoying the snow.
Wiganer, how can you, "or anyone else for that matter", call ANY photohraph on W.W.rubbish just because they don't INTEREST you, can't you see other people have other interests and their all valid!
Take no notice rolo69.....some people just like winding people up.... they should get out more! others are just plain 'honerary' American worsd, hope I spelled it OK....my misspent youth hanging round with American Rock Bands kicking in!
A picture capturing an innocent moment in time from long ago.. doesnt need any justification for its placement on WW. Nor does it need any long caption to put it in perspective. How agro and intolerant and biased can some people be... very ugly..
There are some moaning folk on here, if you don't like looking at people in Wigan pubs, or Wigan scenes, then just don't look on here, go elsewhere.
Never fear jimmie... I think the pubs have won. All the lovely old postcard scenes have been taken down..
The land to the right belonged to Sicklefield House.I grew up there from when my parents moved in about 1939. Reckon I know every inch and climbed every tree....a lovely time there!
