Where was, or is, if it is still in existence, the location of the "Ince Hall". Was it the old St Mary's vicarage?

Haunted by Kitty-Beawt-Yed!

It stands a long way back off Manchester Road on the right just before you get to Rose Bridge. You can see it from the road. It is divided into apartments now.

Irene. Did some local industrialist,or local big wig, live there many years ago?

Can't recall the exact details but I have the history of it somewhere and the story of how the "Kitty-beawt-yed" ghost started. Just going out to Grandson's birthday party so will get back to you.

Thank you Irene. Enjoy the party, I know you will. What age is he?

Dennis. Your photograph shows how it has changed very little since the photograph depicted here. The windows are still the same, except that they are now double glazed. The archway is exactly the same, and also the lamps, and the foliage to the right. The drain pipes are still in the same position. It has been well preserved. Thank you for taking the trouble.

Albert, the hall has been the residence of quite a few "high-up" families, including the Andertons, (who The Anderton Arms, aka the Long-Neck Pub), was named after, and various pit-owners. I will try to get you a reference by which you can read the story of the ghost....just bear with me and I will get back to you. We had a lovely time at my grandson Oliver's birthday tea; he was four last Friday and my grand-daughter Edie will be six next Sunday, and they are having a joint party. Thankyou for your good wishes.

Irene. Glad everything went well at the party.Your very fortunate to have your family close by you, to enjoy them. Both my sons' live in Kent, where I lived for twenty four years, before returning to my beloved Lancashire, in 1988.

Doing my family history and on my mothers marriage certificate it states she was living at the Hall of Ince. She was brought up by Albert Farrimond who I think was a pit engineer living there in 1934. Could this be the place?

Did a girl called Freda live there in 1930s
