It does look very much like Standishgate.
Correction to my comment above - it does not look 'very much like Standishgate' - it IS Standishgate.
Thank you Mick I thought that this may be the case but I don't have a programme that will flip my images ... the reason I was confused by the image is because we always watched the whit walks from either Chapel lane or Scholes I apologise for any confusion caused ...
It's an easy mistake to make if scanning old negatives, Sandra.
I've done it many times myself!
When was the photo taken Mick?
Would my assumption relating to the previous photograph be correct. The procession just about to pass St Mary's R.C. Church?
Albert - the procession is a little further down Standishgate.
The trees you can see on the left were in the grounds of St Paul's Congregational church, on the corner of Dicconson Terrace.
Is this the same building as the standishgate plctures.
