James Martland, who's name appears on the photo i recently posted here of the Upholland war memorial, although I do not know if this photo is of that James Martland or his father.
does any one else have any information on James Martland? I believe his mother may have lived in newgate house or atleast be tied to it as I have a photo of her outside it

I've got a line of Martlands living in Upholland at Catterall's Farm in Dalton. On the same census there's another Martland family who has a son James b. 1863 Burscough
