Play bill from the Wigan Hippodrome dated 24th November 1947. At least two of the OMEGA TRIO were Wigan lads Billy O'Neill and Jimmy Motley from the Wallgate area.

A reminder of real excellent family entertainment. I remember, I was lying on my bed, in the billet, at R A F Cranwell, end of 1957, or at the begining of 1958, when it was announced on the radio, that the Hippodrome,Wigan had burned down. A real very sad event.

Aitch. Must have got my dates wrong. It burned down on the 21st, April, 1956. I remember hearing the news on the camp radio station. I would have been stationed in Germany then, as I only came back to Blighty, in July, 1957. I must be getting mixed up. I heard the news on the camp radio station, at Cranwell, relating to the other tragedy, the aeroplane crash involving Manchester United players, and other passengers', 1958.
