D, I forgot about the farmhouse having a new roof. In the little house next door is where Leslie Baxter lived. Then Pat Geoghegan and John lived there.

Unsworths lived in the farmhouse for some years from the mid 60s till around the photo was taken.

Where abouts in Upholland was Alma Farm ?

Helen, just a bit further up the hill than the old dog pub.

Helen, alma farmhouse is roughley half way up the hill between UpHolland Village and Hall Green.

We had chance of buying that house in 1975 for £4,000 but somebody errrm.. beat us to it

This was my mother in laws family home she wasHelen Baxter and had a brother Victor. Her parents were Leslie and Lydia Baxter and her grandparents lived at Brooklands. They owned and ran Baxters stores as well. Victor moved abroad. Helen died in 1997 sadly.

sorry Helen died in 1998 ,when my daughter was 4. She sadly didnt get to see Henry her grandson.

Visited Alma Farm while growing up in Upholland through the 60's and 70's.If my memory is correct one of the Glover brothers used to work at the farm (Philip)!. Driving out to the fields above Alma Hill on his tractor and working the pigs on the farm. Going to school with Donald Unsworth who moved in after living at the top of Hall Green on Ormskirk Rd. Donald plus his sisters Janet Ruth and Judith.Fred Unsworth had a photography shop on Parliment Street And went to Upholland Grammar School with my Mum Dorothy Alker. The things we used to get up to around the house and the farm..... many good memories.
