Great looking house, does it still exist or have the Wigan planners got to it?
is it jimmy fairhursts family home he has a plant business there
I think I've seen this photo before on this website but I can't be sure. There was a comment about the writing on the back which said something along the lines of the house that Jack built or a variation on that. I remember the photo I saw previously was quite a bit clearer than this one as well.
this house is on Tower Hill in UpHolland, last time I went over there it had a thick hedge in front of it and was not easily visible from the road.
House is still here in all its glory - had a slight face lift in 2006 and as the previous comment says the trees and hedges have somewhat hidden it away.
As present owner would love to know a bit more about the picture - when was it taken, why its called fairhurst house. I have a lot of very old documents relating to the house but nothing that mentions a fairhurst family
I'm currently researching my mothers family and from 1911 census it seems that my great grandmother was a servant to Thomas catterall at a fair hurst house upholland. Does anyone know if this is likely the one?
