This is a photograph taken from a multi view post card showing various views around Wigan. So the quality isn't great.

Looking at this photograph again. I got to thinking that you don't see the 'window blinds' on shops anymore. Always a good place to shelter from the rain

Took me a while to figure out where the photo was taken, it's on the Mesnes Street/Crompton Street junction at the bottom of Standishgate looking up towards Wigan Lane, it's certainly changed quite a lot from then.

Ron on a red hot sunny day it was always cool under those shop canopies too.

great photos. Well spotted cyril, you can see the Convent and further up the royal oak.
