can someone tell me the name of the street on the right that ran alongside smiths in mesnes street out onto dicconson stret please.
Vic, it was Mesnes Terrace. Have a look at this, you can just about make out the street sign.

Vic, If you are talking 1960's I'm sure it was called Back Mesnes Street. Conroy's the fruit people, Halbro sports clothing and Roger Bolton's Iron Foundry had premises down Back Mesnes Street.
