you are right, these photos were taken on the 26th June 1966, the only wedding reception I can ever remember being had in the Lanky Union, we had the meal upstairs in a small triangular room, 56 sat down to lunch, I had a photo with the old bull ring on, but for some reason its done a bunk, our Mr Churnside will remember that I am sure.

It's "dinner" in Wigan, Our Aitch, not "lunch"! This photo reminds me so much of the typically 1960s wedding in the film "The Family Way". I won't forget your anniversary, Aitch.....my daughter Ashley, (your old mate Colin's niece), has her birthday on June 26th. She lives on The Isle of Lewis now, and has just rung to say it is snowing!
