This picture shows my GGMother Mrs Livesey {seated}, my Grandmother Mrs Edith Owen nee Livesey (standing), my uncle George Owen (standing) and my Mother Edith MAY Owen aged 3yrs {seated). The head of the family was John Owen who worked down the pit, was injured and retired to become Park Keeper on Ince Park. The Owens lived at 16 Stopford Street. The picture was taken in 1913

The name Livesey jumped out at me! My Step Grandfather's name was John Robert Livesey and he had a brother Joseph, I never knew of any other relatives. He was married to my Grandmother Shortly after after the First World War. He was a lovely man, the only Grandfether I ever knew.My natural Grandfather was killed in Belgium in 1916,and my Dad's Father died following a mine accident long before I was born. Any chance of a Connection??

Hello Ellen I do not know much about my Mother's relatives the Livesleys but one of my daughters has done some research and if I can find anything of interest I will let you know. BY THE WAY I made a mistake with the date the picture was taken in 1917, it was my Mother who was born in 1913.

Many thanks Maureen. Yes I do agree with you about sepia photographs but the photographers were artists in those days and took time over their work - hence there were not a lot of smiles on the faces of their subjects!
