Me and my mates did a bit of leaning on that fence too. Usually on a Saturday keeping an eye out for the fairer sex!If we got lucky, we'd meet them outside the cinema later...

The black and white half timberd building in the distance was the old Electric showroom, demolished about 1970.
i will always remember comming out off pubs & clubs in the 70s & going to the hamberger cart that used to stand on the corner,you could smell them all over market place,but after a skin full they tasted brill,but take a look at the bloke selling them he always looked like he had done a shift down the pit his overall should have been white,but hes was grey,good old days.

Woolworths cafe with a big mug of tea and a good pipe, Oxleys store on the other side. Don't forget Woolies had a food hall upstaires.
