Does anyone know who the people on the photo are?
I was brought up not far from here. My dad rented a garage on this land. The gentleman to the right looks familiar to me. The name Mr Sharkey comes to mind. I could be wrong as it was a long time ago.
one of the Sharkey family say it is not there dad
the boy on the left kneeling is tony kearns.i have just bumped into him after about 35 yrs.
Yea, that's me crouched down on the left, the smaller boy standing I'm not sure, the taller one is Maurice Myers, the man on the right is my dad, Bill Kearns, and the dog at the front is Rex Hackett! We had lit a fire, and we were boiling wood lice in an old tin can(won't tell you what liquid was in the can, give you 3 guesses!)and my dad came out to see what we were doin'!
I have the original, and it was taken in the very early 50's. The large house in the background, was occupied by the then owner of the garage,(now Acton Garage), Nat(Nathan) SHarrock and his wife, daughter Gwendoline, son Brian, a good friend of mine in those days, and I think a younger sister. If Brian Sharrock by chance reads this, I would like him to get in touch
If Tony Kearns or Dave Orrell pick up on this, please get in touch This blog was sent to me by Philomena (Tierney) Morgan also a Little Londoner. I don't know who the third boy is either. The Sharkey family lived in Acton Terrace, I wonder if it is oneof the s|harkey kids ?
Hi Maurice, you keeping well? Just having a browse and found your latest post. Had a thought on who the other boy is. Do you think it could be Bernard Siney? he appears to be the right build and age, and I'm more or less positive that its not his brother, John.
To anyone who new my brother Tony he past away the other week his funeral is on Thursday the 17/3/2022 at St Aidens church Winstanley at 10 am
So sorry to hear that news Dennis. I did look for a reply from Tony or Dave but obviously I missed it. Still life goes on and good to hear that you're still around.
But to fill in a blank the kid in question was, I think, wasn't the Sineys it was a family who moved into a flat at the bottom of Acton Street. Now that we have this communication, let's not lose it.
