A bit dark but shows a boarded up White Horse Hotel and R.O. Lace bakery.

Memories! Mum paid a weekly visit to R.O. Lace (and Mark Williams butchers next door I think). They were two of the best! Thanks for sharing all your memorable pics Alan!

Seem to remember a second hand furniture shop her somewhere, was it Preston's? Would have been in the 70s.

Duncan, you are right. The furniture shop was Prestons. In the 50s Prestons had another branch in Market St on the original site of Lloyds bank opposite Woodcock St.

bloody hell, laces pies were the best. or should i say second to mayburys in whelley in the 70 s
