That was my local in the early 70s, use to walk up the canal from Ince, but always struggled to walk back home later.....(in the dark)

Seen one or two go in for an involuntary swim after a session in theer and the Kirkless. Owd Tom Woods from Ince was a regular at being pulled out.

Have to admit that one night in the 1980s i ended up in the cut after a few too many in the commercial.
I decided to ride home down the towpath on my bicycle.
Not a good idea,(i soon sobered up though after riding into the canal)
