The lady at front left in the black hat is my Grandmother, Lizzie Hitchen (nee Parkinson).

Interesting identification of the lady in the hat. I had been told that it was Mary Ann Parkinson, my grandmother - sister of Lizzie. The woman to her left is Nellie Atherton - my aunt.

My farther-in-law Gerald Parkes knows this picture very well, to the left where the soldier is stands the Brookhouse Pub, looking up the hill of City Road. If you look top right of the picture you can see the houses on Bell Lane.

Fascinating picture. If either of the two ladies at the front of the picture are Parkinson's then I'm almost certainly related to them as that branch of my family has lived in the Pemberton / kitt Green area for hundreds of years that I am aware of.
