Mr George Wiltshire who was a premiere rider of his day won the race on “General White”, he’d beaten the favourite “Wig Wag”by superior riding it appears. Although it seems only three took part in the main race the meeting brought people and competitors from around the country (by train I presume). The board shows the names of horses and riders and someone is holding up a board with the word Winner on it.
