York St. East was at the bottom of Grt. Georges St. It joined York St. which ended at Miry Lane facing Wilcock St.

Grandma Johnson's shop sold groceries. Many customers had the food on tic and settled when the wages were paid on Fridays. Living rooms at back and above with the first bathroom in the street. Earlier bathed in tub in front of the grate. WC in the back yard and beyond that the railway line.
