Anne, do you know if they had any relations who emigrated to Rhode Island USA? I think my great Uncle Walter's wife was Muriel Halliwell, I believe she came from the Chapel Lane area. Muriel's family would have emigrated around 1918-1920 to Rhode island. My great Uncle Walter was also from Wigan, they met out there and married sometime in the 1930's.
As far as I know I don't think it's any relation.

Although not related there is a link to this family through Muriel's aunt Lucy Jane Halliwell and the families of Little Westwood.
