Love the street-lamps!
I also have a copy of this old postcard, mine was postally used in 1918. others i have from this set were used from 1912 to 1919.
Those lamps were in Cansfield Grove well into the 60s
My 2nd great grandma, Elizabeth née Higginson Sutton had a grocer's shop at several locations in Gerard Street, number 62 in 1881, 58 in 1891; and 23 in 1911. The 1891 census says number 58 and the next record is for the Red Lion Inn, nowadays (if it is the same building) said to be at number 25, so perhaps the grocer's stayed where it was and the numbers changed. In 1891, the Sloper family - Elizabeth's aunt Margaret née Wright and her husband James, had a grocer's next door. The shop opened in the 1870's and was originally run by Elizabeth's husband William, until his untimely death aged 40 in 1883.
