That looks like Cyril Prior's House. I have lots of memories growing up not far from there and the great people who lived in Newtown.

Hi David, The house in front of the gas lamp was a hair dressers when I was a kid. It belonged to Diana Seabrook, who is married to Des Seabrook the Orrell rugby legend. They were related to the Priors. Cyril had the house back to back with this one in Woolden street.

Would that be an old gas lamp still in use in 1955, that would look very cosy on a snowy evening.

David I think Cyril Prior's house was at the other end of that row on Victoria St. I remember taking my daughter to have her photos taken many moons ago at your studio and very good they were too. Also having my hair done at your sister's shop.

Yes, I think this is Diana Prior house, when we were 4 years old she was supposed to be my girlfriend, so my mother told me. My sister and I lived at 218 Ormskirk road corner of Mitchell street, is this the same David Simm I went to school with at St Mark's
