Awh what a shame, holidays ruined for the future and a caravan holds such memories too. I bet they where so gutted.

the shop you can see on the left with the big window was Cartwrights Cloggers the shop just about where the black and white pole is denoting the low bridge was John and Barberas... she was the daughter of Alice who owned the little shop near the oak tree pub
Was one of those shops a chippy? sure my gran used to work there.
Chippy was on the right looking at this pic just before the bridge my mate Biily Cottam's sister had it for a time in the sixties.
My Grans name was Grutude Birch not sure when she worked there or even is she did
aww its lovely to see up lane colin,i lived past bridge up the brew in york st i still go up there remanising now and again last time was with my cousin gerry mawdsley we enjoyed a lovely walk all round canal and peggy spout we ended up at harry mitchells all gone now , went down hemfield rd and brenda galvin came out to us and we had a lovely chat about old times loved it.

My auntie Nellie Parr worked in the chippy for years. Her daughter was Pauline Parr and they lived just across from the crash.
