What a brilliant pic! I love the white brew-can on the right of the top shelf (bottom picture); my dad used to take one to work at Ince Wagon Works. Happy memories!
And the pint mugs, you don't see them around now, mind you I don't think I could drink a pint of tea these days. Good photos Catherine.
I can't see the price on your brew-can Irene but the white pint mug is 2/1d and the smaller one is 1/4d.
A tube of EVO-STIK is marked at 1/9d.
I can't take the credit for these interesting Poolstock Lane photographs, they were taken by the shopowner Norman Kay and we've told him how much they have been appreciated.
He didn't want any acknowledgement, but he's got it now anyway!
Cathy, whoever took the photos doesn`t matter but thanks for posting. They are like gold-dust.
i think a can see bottles of wadickers varnish on the shelf
The pics would make fabulous "nostalgia" jigsaws with so much colour and detail.
They call the brew cans "Billy Cans".They had them in the foundry at Walmsleys Bolton, when I was there only three years ago.
What fantastic pictures! Wonder who did the stocktaking !!?
We dont have shops like this anymore sadly.
