This shot taken from No3 horizon is looking directly down the Wigan mines access intake.The conveyor on the left transported all the coal from the Lower Florida,Ince six feet and Wigan four feet faces.

DOES ANYBODY REMEMBER THE GUY ON NIGHT TURN WHO USED TO STRIP OF AND SLIDE DOWN THE EMPTY WET BELTS AT SNAP TIME WITH HIS CLOTHES IN A SAND BAG?? HE WAS HIGH AS A KITE ON COUGH MEDICINE!!!!HE WAS AS MAD AS A FERRET AND COULD WHISPER OVER 3 FIELDS

Hi Steve I think you may be talking about Johny Gavin he worked in the strata bunker on night shift and was loud.
