11th May 1989 when Anneka Rice and film crew landed helicopter outside main entrance as part of the Treasure Hunt TV programme.
The route included Howe Bridge, Wigan Pier, H.J.Heinz, Charnock Richard and finished at Rufford Old Hall.

i thought it was annabell croft????????
Annabel Croft was the 'Skyrunner' for this one.

I remember one of her comments while she was up in the air 'This can't be Lancashire, its green.' I nearly kicked the telly screen in, in my anger.
