That photo was almost certainly taken on the London - Brighton commercial vehicle rally, 1870. Both of those buses are still in existence today - 34 of 1946 is in Halifax and 70 on the right, built in 1940, is owned by me and kept at the Manchester Museum of Transport.

this photo was taken in Bexley heath bus garage were they were kept overnight for London to Brighton run
