My father was friendly with the Websters as chidren 1920's and related stories of them. The 190 Darlington st East is intriguing. My great Aunt had a shop.at 192a which was the third house past Clarington Grove going towards the forge. Could 190 be the corner house ?I I remember Webstere as " Webster Bros" in Darlington Steet.A domed roofed garage near to Chapel Lane, there was always a black american car there, They had graduated to coach proprietors, and I think they bought out Smiths . They kept thier coaches in a garage in Shelmadine St Off Harrogate St.

I am Fred's daughter and Alan (comment above) is my son. I believe the only Webster in the above photo is Maurice my Uncle. Third from right in dark suit.

I have that photo and it is dated on the back before Maurice was born. Fred was born in 1900 and Maurice a few years later

In our family (Rylance) I was told that Bill Webster was my g/fathers cousin
They both started in business at the same time-early 1900's
In removals and haulage and in our firm weekend coach trips
mainly Southport by hoisting a coach body on to a lorry.!
Richard Rylance with premises in Spring St.,decided to concentrate on the haulage - Websters went for coaches

Hi, Susan, I remember you very well and your father and his brother Jimmy, both lovely people. As you know, your grandparents "Auntie Kelly and Uncle Jack" were great to us when we were small." John

I’m told that the Webster in the photo is my great grandfather. My grandfather was William Webster who at some point in hire like many others up sticks and moved from Wigan to Doncaster with the mining industry. He and Maggie had several children one of which is my father Stanley Webster.
