hi john, thanks for putting this photo on,yes i did drive this crane among other things.i have some really good memories of the glassworks,there was some characters worked there.i will look forward to seeing some more.

Hi Geoff hows it going ? Fun times were had at the glassworks eh ? I remember having to 'bunker up' and drive that old crane, and i remember it breaking down a few times right in the middle and having to climb out the top and along the flimsy gantry. not good when you're afraid of heights. Do you also remember big jimmy (thornton) getting stuck in the lower hatch cos he was busting for a number 2. he never made it he he. I still see tony round, usually round tesco at hindley, and i ended up working with Tony and mervyn (smith) at PPG at hindley green. Drop me a line as I don't have your number any more. And anyone else for that matter if they remember me. with a bit of luck i'll be posting some pics soon.
