Rose Bridge junction again with No 48730 on the 17.7.65. The tracks have been lifted from the junction but you can still make out the indentations where the sleepers have been lifted.

Is that not belle green lane I see before me, thats the water tank at the top of the lane and thats a fine picture of a class 8 workhorse, Im not sure where the old line used to run to, but I would imagine top place

That line did go to top place, passing the EWS just around the bend

Superb Winder. This spot was one of my Grandad's favourites. I think the line's not long been lifted either with clean ballast to the right and indentations obvious as you say.

the line, harold would have run up towards top place. whereby the trains could then have gone back down past the wagon works and down to the mainline at springs branch or not

Could this be part of the Whelly line? I think it is

My dad Norman Taylor was a driver out of Springs Branch in the late 1940s/early 50s and died when I was 5, 1953. Anybody know him? We lived in a railway cottage in Pemberton.
