It was on the left hand side of Smethurst Lane Ron, going towards Leopold Street, just about where Abex Power Hoses are now. It was started in 1910.

Hi Ron, you post some great stuff on Wiganworld. It must be really galling for you to see that shortly after you have posted something (or even ages afterwards!), it appears on Facebook with absolutely no acknowledgment of your work involved.

Catol. that's the reason I've started putting a watermark on the images. If anyone wanted a copy of the image without the watermark I can supply one. We have supplied images to all the various media organisations; BBC. ITV. The Press etc and are happy to do so. If they just acknowledge the source.

Ron, there is a person on facebook who posts photos on the Facebook Wigan Nostalgia site almost as soon as they appear on Wigan World Album. It must be so annoying to the people who have just posted them on The Album but I dare say there is no way it can be stopped. But, as Catol says, so annoying!

I agree not only the old pictures but those from P a D as well. No thought of the research and work involved in sourcing them.

Hi Veronica there are also people from Wigan World who copy Wigan Postcards from eBay and put them on Wigan World to score Brownie Points so sad
