All pit brow girls' were all class ladies. Good clean fun girls. Hard working, and always happy. Happy memories of them, from my time at the Maypole.
We still had pit brow girls at Stones colliery up to its closure in 1960

I was a pit brow girl at wigan junction Colliery going to give a talk for ashton historical society to tell them about my working time there best 2yrs of my life there
My mum Edith ainscough worked as a pit brow lass
