I remember the Manchester Road, (Ince Bar), shop. I wouldn't have thought there were any Sara Lynn counter-bags still in existence! Thankyou for posting.
Hi Cindy,I take it that Sara Lynn is no more, and I am very sorry for that it looks like the usual tale of expanding without going any where then being over stretched on financial down turn,I bet the pies and cakes tasted good to.
Best pies ever,2 meat and potatoe and 2 buttered barm cakes for school dinner, mmmmmmmm
Use to work at this bake house on pottery road started straight from school at the age of 16 in 1979 severe 5 years with them and the place caught fire one night in the early 80's i use to have the keys to open this place up 5 am in the morning firing up all the ovens.
A bit of a stretch, but I always loved the toasting muffins from Sara Lynn's - they were quite tall and made with a light bread mix - I can taste them now! Any ideas if the recipes are around? Who was the master baker? I'd kill for some now!!
