Carl worked with me (Colin) has a young apprentice HGV fitter learning the trade, now 22 years later and with all this modern technology I (from the old school) have to ask him...how times have changed in the motor trade.
Hi Carl,Long time no see your looking well,you look like you
are going to operate with your gloves on,what did your mate
Troy end up doing is he driving or fitting I think he was
more interested in driving you both could have done both jobs all the best.D.C.
Carl doing all the easy bits with his gloves on. (I always thought he was a fairy)
fitters wearing GLOVES what ever next. In my day, you got stuck in with your bare hands and fixed the truck with the skills you learned has an apprentice, to day fitters/Techs plug in a machine and its rectified for the them.Who needs fitters these days with all that technology.
Wearing gloves is a wise choice. I mean who wants dermatitis? Also on the note of diagnostics it can find a fault but won't fix it. Try finding an electrical fault on a modern wagon without a computer. We use to ride horses but times have moved on!
Wearing gloves and colour tv how things have changed for the better.i wished when you plug in a diagnostic machine it would change brake pads and clutch for you.
We still have horses young jack. Their not extinct!
Nothing hard and fast about changing clutches and brake pads on modern HGVs.
karl }doing the easy bits again{
I see young Jack mentions Diagnostics will find a fault but won't fix it!! Well in my day the hardest thing was to find the fault...fixing it was easy bit. We found the fault and repaired it.
Yip I'll go with that top tech. Finding the fault was the hardest thing, repairing or replacing the part was the easy bit.
