I remember john Rathbone he worked with my ex husband carl Fairhurst. the reason there was coffee on the table was that it was a Christmas party and this would have been after the meal
Thanks for the explanation, Margaret!
I was a friend of Roger Rathbone in the 60's and his wife Marjorie. Can someone tell me what happened to them please
Roger was running the bakery at Hall Green, Upholland. He may have now retired although I'm not certain.
Thanks Tom...I have a feeling they are no longer with us sadly
Jack is sat next to his wife Florence my nana and Grandad. Sadly both have now passed away.
Roger and his wife Marjorie are still going strong approaching their 80's . My father was the office manager at Rathbones for 35 years
Was Marjorie's maiden name Lucas? I think she was a cousin of a school friend of mine, Anne Brown nee Lucas???
I was Margaret Lucas. Marjorie Rathbone was Marjorie Turner.Live in Australia but stillvisit Wigan.
Sorry Just realised my previous comment was inaccurate. Mrs Rathbone was not Marjorie Turner.
Marjories maiden name was Lomax..roger still does part time in hall green bakery..they live in nearby tower hill road
We met Roger and his wife at Kirby Lonsdale this weekend it had been 50 years since my husband had worked for a company owned by them we were amazed when we realised who they were it was lovely to talk with them after all that time Roger was so kind but is suffering from cancer
Roger Rathbones wife was Majorie Lomax before she married Roger. She use to visit our old home Sicklefield House to visit my grandfather on occasions on masonic business
In the early 60's I was a member of the Young Conservatives that met in Commercial Yard....it was more of a social club and not really political. Roger Rathbone was the chairman. He was followed by Arthur Bithell ....of the recycling business who we losr in January 2022
