Some of the machinery that was used to perfect the pies etc Taken around 1940

My grandparents were making pies about that time, in Hallgate. They only made about 40/day though. Everything was hand made and granddad used to take pies out in a basket with a jug of gravy to the various works around the area

no my dad was James Edwards .I married Alan Taylor and his Dad John Taylor did not have a lorry firm

Do Edwards still have a shop in Wigan?, the stall in the market hall closed some time ago.

No they don't, and the one in Platt Bridge has gone too. The end of an era. Really sad.

Yes Gordon I do remember you I think we were in the same class? Mrs Ashton was one of the teachers we had.
