Another 1968 photo taken on the now closed & lifted Pemberton Loop line (near to westwood lane)at westwood park looking towards hindley no3,this line closed on the 14th july 1969.

Are the houses on the left in Mount View, with the new Westwood Cemetery land in front, and Wigan Cemetery on the right?

yes, on right of photo is sight of westwood park signalbox.LOL THORPE

numerous freights perhaps one or even two an hour sliding down from hindley station to westwood box to have the banker attached.then a couple of whistles and the big push to upholland tunnel
