Wish I'd a pound for every time I caught that Abbey Lakes 'bus; both the 605/629 services, and the original number 7 service before them.

That's my old bus there too. The 604. Ah memories of running for the last bus on a Friday and Saturday after a night out.

You can just see Sarah Lynn's cake shop in the background, (now Sayers').

I used to catch that bus to meet up with a girlfriend in Orrell. One night me and my date went to the pictures in Wigan. being a gent...cough, cough...I escorted her home to Orrell on the bus and had to walk it back to Ince as I missed the last bus back! After that I bought a Lambretta scooter to make sure it didn't happen again...

Sarah Lynns shop replaced Brooks Bros Tailors I worked there as my first job after leaving school. the manager told me I had to own a suit and a watch before I could start work.. I ask You,, what 15 year old lad from Higher Ince had a suit. My Mam bough me a suit from Oxleys I am sure it was made of raggy arse wool cos every ten minute I had to nip into the changing room, drop me Kex and have a good scratch needless to say within my first month there I bought a made to measure suit with staff discount.. total cost... eight Quid

Couldn't Agree With You More Mickey Never Should Have Been Taken Away They Used To Have The Ancient And Loyal Coat Of Arms On The Side And In Foggy Weather You Knew It Was A Corporation Bus And Not A Ribble Which You Could Not Board Into Town
