Thanks Janet, It's coming back to me now. By the way, which Janet are you?
Hello Roy, I'm Janet Lomax from Downall Green..
Hi Janet.
Thanks for clearing that up.
Am I right in thinking you now live in Florida?
Yes Roy, I do live in Florida, came to the states 33 yrs ago, first to Boston Mass, that's where my husband is from, then down here. I do get awfully homesick though even after all this time..
think you will find this is 3A not 3 as i was in form 3
No Barbara, this is definitely Form 3. If you are the Barbara who I suspect you are i.e. Barbara Bate from sunny Bamfurlong, then yes, you were in this form but you must have been absent on the day this was taken.
All the best,
Roy
Hello. Remembered from our year, Enid Yeates,Christine yeates, Joan Pemberton, Eunice Berry,Christine Silman, Audrey Hinchcliffe, Lesley Waring, Alicia Clarke and twins from landgate. Did Mr Green on the other photo teach us science ?
Hi Joan, Remember me? Thanks for the names but are you sure about Lesley Wareing? I thought she was a year above us. Yes, you're right about Mr Green, he did teach us science,
All the best,
Roy
Yes Roy i do remember you. Lesley used to sit behind me in class.
o.k. Joan, I bow to your superior memory but which one is Lesley on the photo?
Roy
yes you're right, I was in that class but had chickenpox so missed photo call, Hi Joan Houghton, I'm sure Lesley was a year above us. Don Green went on to Upholland Grammar School and I'm sure he became head there. He was a breath of fresh air after some of the ancients who taught us.
Hi Barbara, Lovely to hear from you. Hope you are well and that life haS been good to you. I thought I was right about the photo and about Lesley wareing. I remember Lesley and her friend Beryl Brown (I think) from when we started at the Grammar School. They were both very fanciable but I was just a scrawny little eleven-year old with no chance at all.
I agree with you about Don Green - he was a breath of fresh air but he didn't move to Upholland Grammar, he went to Billinge and Upholland County Secondary where I think he became Deputy Head.
All the very best to you,
Stay in touch'
