Janet, I'm afraid I have only one more class photo which is my younger brother's class in 1959. I will publish it when I have identified everybody.

Thanks Lyndon! Wish you had some of my years, for the life of me I can't remember who was in my class, would love to see some old photos.

Comment by: Lyndon on 17th September 2008 at 19:46

Janet, sorry I don't have a photo of your year but I think you are only 12/18 months older than me. I think I remember you were in the lower fifth at the Grammar School when I was in Form 4. At Rectory School you would probably have been in the same class as Rita Cunliffe, Ann Chisnall, Alan Wilcox, John Ashley, Graham Davies, Sid Byrom, etc.

Thanks Lyndon, Rita Cunliffe rings a bell, did she live on the island? Syd Byrom was I think from Spindle Hillock, not a clue as to the others.

Comment by: Lyndon on 18th September 2008 at 19:15

Janet, Rita Cunliffe lived next door to me in Cedar Grove. Sid Byrom did live in Spindle Hillock and I believe still does in the same house.

There's my brother Brent on there. He's been over on holiday and has enjoyed looking on the site with me, seen quite a lot of familiar faces on pictures and names on posts.
Sadly Billy Jones passed away a few years ago.

Lyndon, the Cunliffe I knew lived on the island, I'm better with faces than names, I hardly ever remember names. Thanks for all the photos, I'm enjoying looking at them.

Thanks Bert! I should have remembered Doreen, she was my age and Doreen was my mothers name, how could have I forgotten. So sad to hear they both have passed away.

I often look through old posts as a way of remembering and looking for familiar faces. I am extremely saddened to read Billy Jones passed away. He was a very special person to me during my teenage years. Have thought of him many times over the years. God bless you, Billy.
