Somethings never change.. little ‘uns getting squashed by the big ‘uns. It must have been clogs and turned down wellies day. Very nostalgic photo Cyril.
Brilliant photo! A moment in time, caught forever.
Just who would have thought looking at that photo , which is roughly from my era, that one day i would be working for an organisation namely ,one Ordnance Survey ,Southampton . Who were, are responsible for all the major and general mapping details of Great Britain.
We should be glad too Alan that Ordnance Survey at the time went out and photographed so many places, and a great many that aren't there anymore, these photos are a wonderful record of local and social history as it was in the late 1940s and early 1950s.
Cyril / Being involved with the O/S i felt was a privilege working and recording item's that would one day become History. Albeit the technology was shall i say a bit more advanced when i worked fr them , the sad part of it was that it took the enjoyment out of work ,ie just waiting for a slot for the satellite's to come over ,then press a button ,job done ! .
