David Payne nearest to the camera. He lived in Poolstock near the Eckersley Arms and went to Poolstock C of E School in Pool Street.
Just wondering, is that Keith Davies next but one on David's right?
Poolstock was a brilliant place to live, play, and go to school in those days.

I know David Payne very well, spent time with him and his wife both here and abroad. He played cricket at WCC for some years, he/they now live in Aspull.

Hi Jim,

Keith Davies would have been in the first year in 1958.
His mother's maiden name was Violet Beckett.

I'm trying to work out which room this is. It looks a bit like the one I was in (a first former in 1963 in 1D with Mr Gibbons - Cadge - as Form Master) that room was on the ground floor in the north east Corner. Happy Days

Doug, we were your arch rivals across the road. If you and Malc want to CHUCK In to buy me a pint I may pop up Thursday.

Hi Keith.

I think he would have started WGS in 1953, the year after us.

This is a brilliant photo - that's my Dad, David ('Joe') Payne in the front gazing off and not looking at the camera!
