Neil Gray was one of the émigrés. I think the other's surname was Caldwell but not sure which one he is.

I've just uploaded the same class in 1957 and Neil Gray is still in it so I may be wrong. Also all the same pupils are in the 1956 class photo with Mr. Lewis plus Michael Andrews (I think).

I'm pretty certain about allan Millward emigrating they lived in st Wilfrid's square , the other family lived bottom of collingwood st and could be billy gray. Think they went together 1960. They settled in Tasmania.

blimey memories that come back, just seeing one of the names on this photo reminded me of this story. Mr Garner came into the class and asked for me to go on an errand. he asked me to go to this boys house and ask his mum why he wasnt at school. i set of walking down to his house , on my own aged probably 9/10 got to the house the boy answered, hi i says mr garner says why are not at school he answers because my pigeons ill. off i went back to school with the message.can you imagine anyone being sent on such a mission these days how many elf/saftey rules have been broken. i could only have been 9/10 years old. true story cant name me class mate but if he reads this he might well remember. oh happy days
