On the back of the photograph is the following
10th Wigan St Joseph's 1935

My dad was generally known as Joe and is 1st on the left on the back row (the short one). I have an earlier snapshot of him and a Patrol Leader called T Mcarthy (that's the spelling on the back) taken in 1929 and the T Mcarthy in the picture looks as though it could be the lad standing on my dad's left. I don't know anything more about the picture but my mother is still with us and may be able to add some detail.

Hi Frank, One hell of a number for a scout troop. funny enough I am trying to submit a picture of the 10th Wigan St James (Poolstock)troop whioch was formed around 1953 / 54. must admit had not heard of St Joseph's before thought we were the first. I take it that this is St Joseph's caroline St.
